2022 was the busiest year ever for SMP. With the "great resignation" many small businesses were no longer able to find qualified people to manage their bookkeeping and payroll, so SMP is now doing those things for several small businesses in the southeast- and mid-Michigan area. It was crazy - but great. I hope the same can be said for all of you!
Moving into tax season, I would like to try to do things a little differently. All current clients will be receiving a letter and/or email in the next few days, but basically, as most of my clients prefer to do their taxes virtually, you will upload all of your documents, and then schedule an appointment about a week out, all of which can be done directly through this website! Of course, in-person appointments are still available, both at my office or at yours, but you can schedule a time directly via the website as well.
The IRS will begin accepting returns on January 23. If you want to be one of the first people to file, start uploading your documents now!
Compared to the last few years with rule changes galore to deal with Covid-19, there's nothing too major to report this year. If you prefer to use an app, the portal now offers a phone app, so check that out if you are interested!
I look forward to working with all of my current clients, and if you are looking for a new tax preparer, please feel free to schedule a 15 Minute Consultation or contact me through this blog!
